Potrero de los Funes is a small mountain village located just 18 km from the city of San Luis. At 900 meters above sea level, its 17 km² artificial reservoir and surrounding mountains make it one of the most complete tourist destinations in central Argentina.
How to Get There
From San Luis city there are local buses every half hour. By car, take provincial route N° 9 directly to the village center. Coming from Córdoba, it is approximately 3 hours via the highway.
When to Go
The destination works year-round but each season has its magic. In summer the reservoir is at its highest and nights are cool. In autumn the foliage colors are unique. In winter the peaks are snow-capped and kayaking takes on a different magic.
Accommodation
Options for all budgets: from municipal campsite to cabins with reservoir views and a boutique hotel on the cliff. We recommend booking in advance during high season (January and Easter week).
Food
The commercial center has a dozen restaurants with mountain specialties: roasted goat, San Luis empanadas, and reservoir trout. The weekend craft market is not to be missed.
